2010 Youth in Government Appointments (The Movie!)

You'll have to excuse the poor audio on this (I taped it off my TV) but I felt like its always nice to show a group of local teens getting a standing ovation from adults, particuarly the Mayor and Common Council. The video is from the October Common Council meeting where 24 students were appointed to 15 boards and commissions throughout Middletown as part of the Youth in Government program.

What the video doesn't show and I found out later is that one of the students turned to another during the standing ovation and said "this is pretty cool", proving how impactful an experience like this can be and how proud we should be as a community to provide it.
