A Day in Meetings

Yesterday was a pretty busy day for me but one that I think does a nice job of answering the question of what does a YSB do? So here was my day in meetings:

9:45am - Children's Coalition Meeting (focusing on parent engagement and empowerment-pic below)
10:45am - Children's Coalition Advocates Meeting (discussing the election and possible implacations for youth)
12:00pm - Meeting with two CT Youth Services Association representative to discuss the Middletown Court District's Juvenile Justice reform iniatiative (called the LIST) which this YSB is coordinating
3:00pm - Chaired the Juvenile Review Board (program we coordinate for first time juvenile offenders)
5:00pm - Middletown Youth Services Bureau Advisory Board (where we discussed the issue of cyberbullying on facebook.com)
6:30pm - Middletown High School PTA/Partnerships Meeeting (where I prepped two students to make a presentation on Dragons In Action on my behalf because I needed to be at...)
7:00pm - Wesleyan Univesity/Sorpotimist Club - Developmental Assets presentation

The day allowed us to engage in juvenile justice, mental/behavioral health, youth development, community coordination, capacity building, youth advocacy, youth empowerment, parent enagement/involvement, bullying, technology, legislative politics, state-wide reform, among other issues and roles.

All in a honest days work...have a great weekend everyone!

(I also got to poke my head into this great assembly held at WWMS by NASA called FMA Live which was really impressive and a great way to promote math and science to kids)
