ONLY 21% OF MIDDLETOWN YOUTH REPORT THAT THEY READ FOR PLEASURE 3 OR MORE HOURS PER WEEK
Today is officially the first day of summer! With that said, unfortunately statistics show that youth in Middletown are not reading for pleasure as much as we would hope. Summer is a wonderful time to help the children in your life learn to enjoy reading. Below you will find several resources to help kids feed their brains this summer!!!!
MIDDLETOWN PUBLIC SCHOOLS/RUSSELL LIBRARY OPPORTUNITIES
Summer Reading Programs start June 21- At Russell Library
One World Many Stories
(Summer Reading Program for 3 years to entering 3rd grade.)
Beginning Tuesday, June 21, kids are invited to come in to the Russell Library to get started on the One World, Many Stories summer reading program. For every five books you read you’ll earn a sticker and a small take home prize. After 25 books you earn great prizes from local merchants and a free book. Being read to counts! There will be great programs as well as lots of reading fun. Come and see where books take you this summer. http://www.russelllibrary.org/kids/kids_events_progs.html
